Zone Alarm Question

I'm running ZA & it loads on startup (OS 98SE)- when I run Scandisk, it tells me that it has restarted 10 times and I need to shut something down.
Thru trial & error, I found that if I right click ZA (and avast! & AVG ) and stop it, Scandisk will do its job (it always finds errors, and auto fixes them)- but when I go to re-start ZA, it won't! (Avast! & AVG start back up OK)
It tells me 'system error' & I have to reboot.PIA !!
Is this normal ?

Yep it's normal.

A conflict that's been around since the previous version of ZA.

Try running scandisk in safemode.

I do run Scandisk (& Defrag) in safe mode, sometimes- but it always jumbles my desktop arrangements and I have to re-arrange all my stuff afterwards when I re-boot back to normal mode, PIA !
