These "vacations" where nearly half the time is spent on the road always leave me a little tired, but this time I'm sitting here tired and hurting. I went up to Nova Scotia to spend a long weekend with my daughter and on the way over my ear and face started to kick up. So I decided to boost the Trileptal a little rather than be distracted by the tn pain. That probably made me a little more wobbly than usual, so that when I stepped on a slick walk and lost my footing I took a hard fall. And I cracked a couple of ribs in the process, plus it feels like I pulled every muscle between my knees and my neck. Oh woe I am sore. But game - or stupid - or stoic - whatever, I hauled my butt up and we went on and did all the things we'd planned to do (and then some). I guess the adrenaline kept me moving because by the time I got home it seemed like propping myself in a chair and moaning for about a month was a reeeeeealy good idea. Got to the doctor yesterday and was told that I could probably not do myself much more harm, but to call if I started coughing up blood. I don't know whether I mentioned the complaint of this old gentleman I know who was diagnosed with tn this summer and put on Trileptal. He told me that it made him "top heavy" and that is such a perfect description. So I fell over because the Trileptal made me topheavy I guess. Now the trick will be not to fall again before those ribs heal.

I'm so glad to see everyone showing up here again, but to read bad news is not good. Just for now all I can do is send love to you all, I'm thinking of you and wishing better days, Love, Nancy

Oh Nancy!!!
You poor thing. On the brighter side, at least you got to spend time with your daughter. Anyone can take a spill on a slick road. You dont have to be drugged up to do it. Don;t be so hard on yourself. Just give yourself the time you need to relax and heal....and stay put!

I echo Ella's response!
Stay put and give yourself a much needed rest so you'll heal quickly. Big hugs to you Nancy(aka: ROTU)!

Hi Nancy, The side track is dull in a snese because nothing compares to this but it makes for a good patient. I've learned to endure and that anything else life throws at me pales if you know what I mean. I'm getting pretty top heavy too and around my house I'm learning where and when to put up my arms for balance. Not much room here so it's kind of easy. I hope you're feeling better and watch thoughs corners... Andy

Poor you Nancy!

Such a shame this happened - you now need to let yourself heal properly!! Try some arnica for the bruising?

Big - gentle hugs to you!

Nancy sorry about your accident I do believe that the meds make us have moments when we don't think clearly, I'm always hurting somewhere on my body and can't remember how it happened. Well maybe that's old age creaping in:p, but I know you enjoyed your visit and have lots of work ahead of you for the coming winter months so try and take it easy for the time being

Hi Nancy:

So sorry to hear you slipped on a slick spot and fell. Was this ice or what? Perhaps a moss covered rock?

I did something very stupid recently and fell hard on my back and ended up with a big bump on the back of my head. This bump went away after about a week and I didn't have any headaches or anything else worrisome.

How did this happen to me? Well, the phone rang while I was taking a shower and like a fool I got out and headed toward the bedroom over a WOODEN FLOOR. The drops of water from my body pooled in front of my foot and down I went. Oh, wow! On the way down I sure was worried about whether I would break something. But I didn't - lucky me.

So friends, let the darn phone ring when you are in the shower. We have a message machine which can perfectly well take all calls and now I let it do just that.

Nancy, what have I told you about learning to fly the hard way? ;)
So sorry to hear about your fall, I hope your healing ok and not feeling so bad now.
If could come and take the weight off your feet and pamper you a little, I sure would.

Take it easy.

Love Tracy x

Nancy, I am so sorry to read about you getting hurt, it's the last thing you need!
Pamper yourself as much as you can and let yourself heal. Now who sounds like the mother here?
Sending gentle hugs and healing vibes your way.

Oh, Nancy,

I sure hope you're feeling better by the time you read this (been offline a few days with a virus - the computer, not me - so catching up). Sending positive thoughts your way.

Love,
Jan
