Hello,
I posted a few times on the old board but didn't get a chance to ask this before it went down.
It's my mum who has an aneurysm. It's a giant one in her right cirotid artery. She's had one surgery to insert balloons into the artey closing it off altogether as that was the only option. It's too big to use coils. This surgery was risky as she now only has the left artery feeding her brain, but it worked!... for a little while.
A little vein opened up just after the balloons and is feeding the little bugger again. They tried another surgery to insert balloons into that vein, but it's too narrow and thay have no instruments small enough to do the job.
So now she still has it and is feeling a little bit down. They've told her to live her life now and do what she wants, which feels like a way of saying there's nothing more we can do.
She doesn't have the patience (or eye sight anymore) to use a computer, and she has no one to talk to about how she's feeling, who'll totally understand what she's going through.
What I was hoping was that if anyone on here would be willing to send her a letter?
If you typed it out then just printed it off and sent it, she'd be so greatful. I'm prepared to pay for the cost of postage and all that. I just want her to have someone to talk to about it all, someone who will know what she's going through is normal and she isn't alone.
I'm not sure how to go about starting it off, maybe anyone who's interested could pm me and I'll pm you my address? Maybe you could both start off with a letter about yourselves and see where it goes from there?
She'd love to write to someone about it, and anything else for that matter.
Hey, it's the old fashioned way! lol.
Thanks.
Nik.
