Interesting comment from a friend yesterday

I have a very close friend that knows a mother & son with Lyme. And she's fully aware of my own saga.

Yesterday she made a remark that kinda shocked me since I don't overload her with info.....

She said she thinks Lyme is everywhere & most of the population has it! Apparently 2 of her relatives now have it,one is a nurse,the other was diagnosed with MS years ago.

Now this woman doesn't listen to the news much (she was unaware of Bush's Lyme for instance),she travels all over the US every week. The people she knows with Lyme live from Maine to the West coast. She has many friends & family diagnosed with fibro & arthritis......and her own daughter just had a brain MRI for a mystery illness.

I just thought her comment was very odd! But I sure didn't disagree with her,just commented that she might be right.

Hi Buttons. Lyme disease is the second fastest growing infectious disease in the US after AIDS and the number one vector-borne disease in the US, so your friend is correct!

With it being so prevelant, you would think there would be a major effort to educate the public and medical community, but nothing is being done. Ignoring how serious and prevelant it is, will not make it go away. It will only make the health of too many people go away.
