>>>>>>>Greetings<<<<<<<
I have just got over comments made by my Dr. during a telephone consultation
yesterday.
When i reported side effects from my latest combination of medication
( Lyrica and vandral) i was told "there is nothing else" and that i was expecting too much of my meds to treat epilepsy ,a mood disorder, depression and almost constant head pain on an already damaged brain for there not to be side effects.
So am i to live with symptoms or side effects ? In this case the side effects or contra indications-which ever term i use my Dr. insists on using the other-include everything in slow motion : i only have 2 speed at the best of times and they are dead slow and stop.
I was told that all mind drugs have a sedative effect. Is this true ?
I voiced concerns about aggression becoming a problem , sometimes now i am reduced to growling and i know i sometimes scare people.
Anyone with any ideas or words of comfort ? This is depressing me greatly.
Be seeing you . Zoso

It really is your call. If you don't feel that "trading one problem for another," meaning you get side effects from all drugs because it is suppressive therapy, then you are the one to decide if you want to pursue something else.

I don't personally know much about epilespy, but I have lived with depression and some other mental health problems (anxiety, fears, etc.) and have treated these with nutritional supplements. The problem is finding a doctor who is qualified to do this in a holistic way. I use orthomolecular which is actually best known for treating schizophrenia with megadose nutritional supplements. Treating any health problem with a holistic approach is more work for you (researching it and asking questions mainly), more expense for you too; so it is really your decision.

But I sometimes like to remind myself: I always have options. You do have options; you just have to consider if exploring those options is something you want to undertake. I am not suggesting that your let scripts lapse or something, but if you start on some holistic treatment you can probably wean yourself slowly off of those meds so you don't have any problems.
