Maddy starts the SISCOM process tomorrow morning and she's really dreading it. I feel so bad for her because typcially, no matter what she's going through at the time, she somehow manages to be Suzie Sunshine but this one is really weighing her down. She's anxious about how long we'll have to stay at Mayo and she's dreading the EEG and the anticpated spike in seizure activity as they decrease her meds to bring them on. She's just as worried about what they intend to do to try to get her seizure free for 24 hours so that they can do the second leg of the SISCOM. To be honest, I am too.

If you have a free minute tomorrow would you mind saying a quick prayer for Maddy? God is doing a new thing in her life and I'm trying very hard to keep Jeremiah 29:11 in my mind: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Yes, I will pray for Maddy...and about that passage...

Reading on here, you may have assertained that Lizard and I are best friends and have known each other for 18 - 19 years. She approached me our senior year of college and asked me to help her establish an organization she was founding, Radford Epilepsy Awareness Project (REAP). I agreed. I learned a lot about epilepsy that year. I had never known anyone with epilepsy prior to joining the project. And for 18 years, Liz was my sole extent of experience with epilepsy. It had nothing to do with me. I was just interested because she was my friend, and she wasn't even my friend until she asked me to help, just a classmate. But God knows what is best and what we need...18 years later, He gave me a son, and I had the experience to recognize what I needed to recognize. He knows his plans...even if they don't seem to be making any sense at the time.
