Got results from eeg

Unfortunately we got the results from the neuro even though Kody's regular neuro isn't here until August 20. The neuro that read it said that he is having bi-lateral frontal spiking. Apparently she says that it isn't normal and she isn't happy with it. He had a right hemispherectomy and I am assuming that bilateral means that it is also on his left side which is supposed to be normal.
She wants a 12 hour video eeg done which will be done towards the end of Sept. I am really just kind of speechless. Don't know how to feel. He has been seizure free since surgery and med free for about 3 years.
I just wonder if this is from the 2 accidents. I quess we will know more when his Dr. comes back and after the video eeg.

I am so sorry to hear this news, I can't imagine the anguish you guys must be feeling right now. I hope and pray that it isn't what it sounds like...

I hope that he continues to be seizure free. Always remember that just because the EEG isn't normal, doesn't mean he's having seizures...just that he's more likely to. If he isn't having seizures then the EEG could just be a fluke...at least there is hope.

I am so sorry. Hopefully this is just a propensity for seizures and you'll neve see one. Do they have an EEG from before the accidents to see if he was having this spiking then?

Was the Dr. who read it Dr. H? If so, she is Langan's neuro and I trust her implicitly. Let me know if you want to IM about this. She really is super.

My heart sank as I read your post. I hope and pray that there are no real seizures. You and Kim and the rest of the family are in my daily prayers. I know this must be so difficult for you guys after such a long respite from these nasty things. Hopefully, Kody's regular neuro can give you some more detailed results soon. I'm praying so hard for Kody to remain seizure free!!
