I'm hoping someone can give me some input on this problem. Five years ago, I started having problems with double vision.
I first noticed it while I was driving to work on a rainy day. I thought that the combination of rain drops on my car windows and the bright sunshine that had broken through the clouds, was causing it. At the time, I worked at an elementary school, so while I was inside the classroom, it went away, but when I went outside to do yard duty, it all returned.
I reported this to my neuro, who explained that it's a problem with my eye muscles not working together. He put me on a couse of oral prednisone. I continued to have double vision but only when I looked to the left, it has never gone away.
Fast forward a couple years. I began noticing that when riding in a car as a passenger, I would start having double vision. If I don't look around, it's not a problem, but that's almost impossible. I have given up driving because of this problem.
Last evening, my hubby took me to a concert in the park. Lots of people and kids running all over the place. Within a couple of minutes, I was seeing double! I guess it was just too much movement going on around me. I spent most of the evening with one eye closed.
Anyone else with this problem? What can I do, short of getting a eye patch to keep one eye covered while out? I know pirates are popular these days, but geesh!
P.S. This doesn't happen to me at home, even while reading.
Joan ;)
