I've recently been prescribed prednisone for inflammation of my sciatic nerve pain in my left leg, knee down to my feet. Ive never been on prednisone and it seems like it is causing more pain in those areas. I only have been taking them for 3 days now and have only 2 days left. I was wondering if anyone has ever had issues with predisone causing more pain. I have possibly RSD as well, but have not been positively diagnosed with it. Any input regarding this medication would be greatly appreciated.

Prednisone, although great for reducing inflammation, has a great many adverse side effects. It also does nothing to fix the underlying disease process that is causing the inflammation.
I had sciatic pain for years. This pain disappeared when I began a gluten free diet 4 years ago. My "arthritis" in my knees and shoulders and fingers also disappeared. I do not have celiac disesase - I have gluten sensitivity. There is a gluten sensitivity/celiac disease forum here on BT. I am not telling you that a gluten free diet is a cure all, but gluten(wheat, barley and rye) was the underlying problem for my health problems.
