View Full Version : Maggianos
I know that this restaurant has been posted before as being Celiac friendly, however, I just have to add to that. Our support group had a meeting at Maggianos in Cincinnati last night. The chef there has a mother-in-law who has Celiac. He catered to our group meeting (~100 people) a completely GF meal from salad, pasta, chicken, vegetable and brownies. It was absolutely wonderful.
The pasta he had used was imported from Italy and was fantastic:

He also mentioned that if anyone comes in and asks for a gluten free meal, that they will get a GF brownie for free. How nice is that! So if you are ever in the Cincinnati area, I would highly recommend Maggianos for dinner.
I was recently joking with my husband and daughter that we should plan our next vacation around the best gluten free restaurants and bakeries...lol! Wouldn't that be fun to just travel a loop around GF establishments.

Cara - that sounds like a blast actually. Do we have a list of restaurants/cities that are GF friendly? My daughter is traveling to DC in the spring and although she is not GF, she is trying hard. It would be nice to have a reference like that.
It seems like we had one at one time. I suppose we lost this in the big crash.
There is a site... I think a Wiki Site... where people enter gf restaurants by location. You can really google almost anything up these days. I'll see if I can find it.
Also, check the local support groups for ideas in certain areas. Al posted this: http://forums.braintalk2.org/showthread.php?t=2685
You can check this out... the GIG restaurant program:

But, I swear there was a Wiki site...just not finding it. This looks like a listing to all the various restaurant sites:

Looks like the wiki site is maybe...just gone?

I think I want to visit Cincinnati - I have never had that desire before now
Traveling across the country hitting the GF restaurants - sounds like fun. Reminds me of my drive from Little Rock to Marshfield, WI to see my younger son. On the way I was able to stop over at Cara's and Al's for delicious GF food and hospitality :D Too bad I was not able to find more BT'ers on the way.

Here is the Wiki site. It was on St Johns list today - how's that for coincidence.

I should add in the restaurants for AR.
