I have an appointment slated for Saturday afternoon to be "fitted" with new golf clubs.
A cousin had told me about a Pro he knows and that the man has been holding a set of pink "Lefties" for me to try - so he can work with me from there and get me all set up :D. (Pink just so happens to be my favorite color; I've been getting prepped for this for well-over a year: People have been giving me Pink Panther golf balls, pink tees, pink and white visors, gloves, etc.)
Because I have high club head speed, the last pro I worked with (before he moved :() said I need Seniors women's club to avoid overpowering the balls. Whatever... as long as they're shiny pink, everything's cool!
The man's a total chatterbox, which is good because I'm rather reserved and shy around people I don't really "know." The more he talks, the less it means that I will need to do so :).
After that, more lessons, and, then... it's off to the PGA .
P.S. I'm hoping, that when I play, no one anticipates I'll keep score; I am terrible at math.

Bobbi, have fun with the golf lessons, it is a good way to get outside for several hours. Are you going to watch the new Pink Panther movie when it comes out [not sure when just read where Steve Marting got married with his Cluceau[sp] mustache as he was preparing for the role]. Enjoy your pink golf equipment.

Thanks, Mark.
Until earlier yesterday (still my Friday night), I thought my "appointment" was for fitting and ordering clubs - finally; left-handed golfers comprise about 4 percent of the nation's total from what I was told my last lesson. But ... nope. Couldn't be so easy. The guy wants to go through my swing and everything indoors. Why? I dunno. I've already been through the rudimentary "stuff" (on a range).
I've got this feeling that the new (to me) guy isn't nearly as prepared to work with disabled golfers as was the previous pro who worked with me. I wish he were still around (but has cancer and moved nearer his parents); he was such a nice man and was responsible for attaining the adaptive equip. and also for guiding some to turneys, which was our goal ;).
I'm gonna try to remain excited only... now, it's gonna feel like a repeat. I could use the course's equip., only my cousin thinks that it'd be better for me to me to have my own - for consistency. I hope he gets his money's worth :). I believe, I only need an iron and a driver to practice, but... I'll go with the flow.
And... I haven't heard about the P. Panther movie. I gotta keep and ear/eye out for it, that's for sure .

Thank you, Christina, Allie & Linda, too :).
I wished you lived near, as well, Allie; it'd be fun to go with other spineys. I've seen the course, where I did my first lessons as a "disabled" golfer, featured in news reports (too many times to count now) for its Pros, its equipment, its disabled golfers breaking stereotypes and records.
Though it's all men I've seen profiled, it's time some female golfers kicked some major butt hitting them balls :D. Seriously. I haven't any idea why I've not seen more females represented, but it will (I'm looking ahead) be nice to see an increased amt. of disabled women tee-off, too.
Linda, I'm not sure how I'll get photos. I've been the designated "photographer" when I go to courses with family and friends. I could say: "I don't mind," but I'd be lying. It does upset me - that (for years) I've not been able to pick up a club. I saw a mag. article about a Pro whom specifically worked with disabled golfers. That's how I found my man . Even though he's moved away due to his condition, I know it's possible to go for it.
My first time "out" with my own clubs, I will make sure someone takes some photos.
(Poochie? She's doing better since I changed the times when I give her her medication. I'm still thinking, however, she'll probably do better after a follow-up with her doc. I think she will end up on Zyrtec.)

Okay here is what you do!!
Get out a tri-pod and set up your camera on time set, I bet after this others will be more then happy to take some pics or they can lose time to you setting up your equipment, cause you be sure and tell them there is a mob that will be coming to the golf course to see you "swing" and out clubs won't be the kind you use for golfing!!
Glad Pooch is is some what better and know you will feel better after he sees his doc and gets straightened out..
Linda
Have fun cause like I told you , I'm living my life through you !! Ha Ha !!
