Mark,
I have seen you mention soma on some of your posts, I was wondering how it works for you? Can you take it for a long period of time like baclofen and what dose are you taking? I don't mean to be so nosy but I have been taking baclofen for almost a year now and it is doing nothing for the spasms in my neck. My doctor mentioned soma to me and I'm not sure about it.
Thanks,
Marlene

No problem about the questions. I don't have any experience with baclofen but have taken Soma for more than a decade. Soma is an old anti-depressant that has been used as a muscle relaxer and most doctors today don't prescribe it because is an "addictive" medicine.
My experience has been good. It is cheap and I never have suffered any addictive effects from it. When it works well it relaxes you completely especially when you are having muscle spasms. The one thing I don't like is that it can be inconsistent. One time it is a perfect medicine and you go on not realizing you have taken a med other than your spasms and pain are diminished. Other times it hits you so hard you can't walk from the chair you are in to bed so you can sleep. It doesn't hit me that hard often but it does occur and there is no rhyme nor reason that I have found to determine when it will happen.
I am very happy with it and hope that I never have to change. I say give it a try and see how it works for you.

Mark,
The soma worked wonderful for me last night. I think it was the best night's sleep I have had in 4 years. The doctor said to take it every 8 hours, but I think right now that will be a little too much because I am pretty tired today. I think for now I will take it every 12 hours. Do you take it on a regular basis or just when you need it? Have you ever built up tolerance to the dosage? Sorry to bother you again.
