Hi all...have you seen the news about Oscar the cat that lives in the nursing home?
He seems to be able to predict who's going to be dying in less than 24 hours of this very alluf cat paying a visit with a patient who then ends up dying.
I think this cat is actually killing those people!
Dont ya think?
Well...actually I'm just kidding about being scheptical...
I have no doubts this cat is attune to immenant deaths.
I beleive dogs also have this same sense...just a matter of being "in tune" in being aware of the dogs signals.
Some dogs can predict seizures, phobias and fears.
I had a cat growel and hiss when a man was breaking into our bedroom and I was all alone.
There were 2 murders in the same area that year, all done by a man who used a knife to rip open the bedroom screens just as he'd done to ours.
I was soooo lucky I had that cat! He saved my life that night as my husband was working all night.
Our cats hissing woke me up and I ran out of the room screaming and the rapist ran away.

Here's a link to the news article to Oscar the cat.

Yes, I have read that story. We joked at work that perhaps the old wives tale of cats sucking the breath out of babies is also true for the elderly too.

In all seriousness, dogs and cats seem to have a sense about the human condition. There are Alert dogs for diabetes and seizures. I bet cats could do the same is one could train them. There are also dogs that can sniff out cancers.

She sniffs out butts too! Ha!
Is amazing how these animals can be so intuative.
My service dog, black Lab, Satin was a pet therapist for over 6 years at a hospital. She was certified by Delta Society, passed a very stringent test to not react to ANY situations OR try to protect me...this is needed especially in the psyche wards where a patient can become combative.
So she needed to have total restraint.
One time when we stopped for gas at this certain place...the owner has always had a "thing" for me...always makes inappropriate comments about my looks and other things...we live out in the boonies so are forced to "trade" there.
This guy is also very heavy into **** and guns...when he came up to my window to ask me how much gas I wanted...Satin bared her teeth and groweled! Talk about a shock to see her do this!
But she knew this guy is a bad guy!
When we visited with patients in the psyche wards we had many instances that got a little "testy"...Satin NEVER reacted and remained calm.
So having her do this was totally surprising.
She's been my best freind for many years and has been a companion like no one ever can ever hope to be..
