Hey all! I know I haven't been on for abit but I have been busy with the house here and trying to get my book ready to go. I think it might have gotten the interest of a prominent New York Agent so wish me luck! I sent out a couple of queries for it yesterday and today got back the most AWESOME reply from one of them!

It asked for an exclusive partial meaning I can't submit it anywhere for awhile which is fine by me because I think the agent will LIKE what she's going to see and hopefully she's going to ask for the entire novel and help get me published! I know there are a lot of steps to go through first but I just had to share the initial HAPPINESS rush I feel right now here with you! *hug

"Walk of Fire" a story about a 18 year old who goes through trauma and loses a leg. A freak accident involving a drunk driver. Nick Andrews struggles to adjust to being a high level amputee. It's about his journey to accept himself and it's also about how he fights to get out of a wheelchair using a prosthetic leg. Later he then decides he wants to go to school to learn how to fabricate prosthetic limbs for people and help others like he himself was helped.

It's my first novel. :) I am so very proud. I worked hard on it and hope I can now move onto making the 'query letter' for the next bathch of things to go out. I need to query my next finished novel, "Two Wrongs Make A Light" about a domestic abused red head who used to be a exotic dancer, before getting with this weird guy who shoved her down stairs over cigarettes. Her story is about going to becoming a Physical Therapist, but she herself isn't permanently disabled like Nick in my first novel is. :)

You never know they both may be coming to a Barnes and Noble near you in the next few years. :D

I am so glad you feel it, that is the point of posting about it here, because I know how happy my good friends will be seeing that I am one small step closer towards making my dreams of being a pulished author a reality. Finding an agent is a big part of the job, but then writing is the ultimate job in my book. ;) Ultimate one for me anyway. ;)

I want this so much, I will definitely let everyone know if I hear from her soon. It would be so cool if she replied again soon asking for the full manuscript. I would so love to send it to her and see what she thinks. :D

Based somewhat on personal experience? ;) I would definitely read it, so if I get it and send it to you, you'll autograph it, right? :D

Congrats to you!!!!!!!!!!!

LIZARD, proud to know a real author! :D

Well there is a lot of my personal experiences in it, but it's not the thing I wrote which is what I consider a Memoir, that is a different project, one I just completed last year. You bet I'll autograph it for you Lizard! You and everyone else who wants me to. :)

I can't wait to see what publishers think of it, I just know it's a strong story and will do well if bought by a big publishing house. :D WOO HOO!!! Alas though even published writers still have to think about what they want for dinner. And dinner is calling me. ;)

I'll check back later and post more after I talk to my mom. ;) :D

The first and likely last time I will burst into a (personalized) Def Lep lyric...just for you Pam!

From Pour Some Sugar on Me, that lyric about acrazy little woman is definitely me...LMAO! :)

But the point is that it's out with a good agent right now and could be being read page to page and that excites my imagination. :D

Well thank you everyone! I knew you'd all be pleased, you know how long I have worked on this novel and that I entered it in that gather.com contest and how it didn't make the first cut was a disappointment just like not getting that grant I applied for was a disappointment. But this, WOW, THIS is just so awesome! I have been waiting since last year when I first started submitting these kind of letters to good agents. I sure hope she likes it and wants to represent it. I DEFINITELY will keep you all posted.

I can't wait for people to be able to read it, it's a good story with a pretty good ending if I say so myself. I sure hope you all like it when the time comes and it's published and you can get it from the bookstore or the local library. TO get my books in the library, that is a long term goal. I definitely wanna get my books out there for people to read. Thanks everyone! You're the best! :D

(I'll call you a little later Lisa, I have one errand to run and then I will be home and can talk for a bit. Thanks for the great reply to my gushing email! :D )

Thanks Shelly! I hope to be able to report more from the agent soon. I expect it could take her awhile, but I also expect that if she is really hot for the project and willing to take it on she will be in touch sooner rather then later to ask for the entire manuscript. Right now just fifty pages and the synopsis are in her hands as she asked for so I hope that things work out well. :)

Thank so much for caring Shelly. :D It's so awesome to have friends to share this big news with. :D

Thanks Isabelle, I am proud to know you too. :D Although it's not sold yet, I have hope that this agent's interest will only get stronger and that she will love the story as much as I and you do so that she will get out there and sell it for me. I haven't really got any flowers outside, it's more like weird plants. But I did recently post a couple of pics of Jackie here in the new place and at the little park. ;) Have to get the camera out and see about snapping the front of the house and get a nice cozy little shot. :)

Thank you Mrs. J! I am definitely really excited. I hope that this is the one who'll help me get it published. I will let you all know how it goes when I hear something. :D

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes and kind words. It means so much to not be celebrating this big news all alone. ;) :D
