Dad has been diagnosed with a disease called Parkinson’s disease. I don’t know anything about this disease and actually I was looking for info on this disease when I reached this forum. What I have understood so far is that it has something to do with the movement and speech. Anyway dad has been prescribed Eldepryl ..i hope I have written it correctly. I just wanted to ask whether you know someone suffering from this disease? Also what medications do they take? Do you know someone who takes Eldepryl? I read that this medicine has several side effects

1. Allergic reactions such as difficulty in breathing; closing of throat; swelling of lips, tongue, or face; or hives)
2. Severe headaches
3. Restlessness, agitation, or irritability
4. Sweating
5. Convulsions
6. Uncontrollable or Irregular movements
7. Dizziness or drowsiness
8. Nausea, abdominal pain, or diarrhea
9. Insomnia or vivid dreams
10. Mild confusion, agitation, or anxiety
11. Mild headache
12. Dry mouth

It says that other side effects may also occur other than the above mentioned. Has anyone experienced side effects other than the ones stated above? If yes then what are these side effects? Thanks

Zizzy,
Recommend you move your question to the Parkinson's Disease section. You'll get a better response and quicker for all the folks with the disease that visit that forum.

In the meantime a Google search on "Parkinson's Disease" will provide you with a wealth of websites regarding PD.
