I've been researching flea/tic meds today. Finally just called my vet to see what HE uses on his dogs after this bit of info came up: some meds are no longer working in some areas of the country, because the fleas/ticks have built up a resistance to them! (similiar to what's going on with humans/anti-biotics). I figured since the vet lives within a mile of here & has alot of dogs he would be using what I should, plus his prices are even cheaper than online!
so I suggest depending on where you live that you might check with local vets or dog owners to see what they use.
Here's more alarming info: there's deadly algae in ponds, lakes this early in the year. I'm upset about this cause I can't keep Rags from the ponds! He especially likes the small one I refer to as a swamp cause of all the algae. I don't believe he drinks from these ponds but who knows?
The story I read was about a dog in Wisconsin, had been swimming & drank the water, rushed to vet ER & put on ventilator, had to be put down. Sure hope this might be a head's up for dog owners,we don't need them dying from water!
