I guess it takes something to get me real mad to get me out of my silent mood and start posting again, but I have been reading the posts. Anyway, just wanted to ask:
CNN had a program on last night about that wrestler that killed his family and they were all talking about how everyone is shocked that maybe the son didn't have fragile-x after all, and one of the correspondents said "well... that just makes it all the more horrible, that he killed a mentally healthy child..." what an @ss.
And then the person filling in for Nancy Grace on her show just sort of agreed, and went on....
Is this for real? If Nancy Grace was there, do you think would she have stood up for the 'other' kids and told that guy that any kid just as much a victim? I know she has a disabled family member...

I noticed that, too....made me so mad I had to go take a shower. Perhaps the network needs an education from a "million mad moms!" Cally

I am not too informed about that story, for some reason I felt like I couldn't take hearing more when the story would air.
I'm not completely sure what that statement was supposed to insinuate, but it sounds awful. Like a murdered child with a disability is a shame, but a murdered child with no disability is sooooo much worse. I'm sure it's an equal tragedy to the children that lose their lives to murder, and those that love them. Those children are not heaven saying "well not biggie, I have a disability after all."
Maybe I should be mad, but I think that just makes them all look like total idiots. Anyone that would agree with that statement is just as idiotic.

My husband came home more PO'd that day than he has in many months from work. It took nearly 3 days for him to finally tell me about the whole thing and what buttholes the CNN people made of themselves.

Your best bet is to stop watching sensationalist news programs. I don't know why anyone would watch that program with or without Nancy Grace. She's awful.

But ... what if I can't find a news network that ISN'T?
Anyway, it's amazing so may here saw that and took issue with the comment too. That's cool that you emailed the show Mary evelyn.

There are plenty of alternative sources of news including NPR and great publications that you shouldn't need to watch TV news shows. It's not like you learn anything by listening to a "news program" rattle on about Anna Nicole Smith for months on end.
TV news died with the OJ Simpson trail. Now it's just fluff and salacious gossip with the occasional scare story thrown in to make you worried about fairly insignificant issues (e.g., shark attacks).

Maybe it depends where you live.
We have some really good news and current event shows here on non-commercial television.
lol @ shark attacks comment. That's BIG news here 'cause they're BIG sharks.
