Hi everyone! I don't know what I've been doing other than usual everyday things but it seems like I can't get here as often as I used to. Anyway, had a question about a seizure that Chloe has been having lately. She's up to her full dose of Keppra with good results on the myoclonics(haven't had to use diastat for 3mths now, knock on wood), still on the Topomax and Pheno. Anyway, in the last couple of months she has been having a seizure where she goes completely still, breathing seems to cease or shallow, her eyes move very slowly up and down, and then she comes out of it. She does this maybe 3-5times/day on top of the myoclonics(which have decreased in frequency and length, thankfully). I told her doc about them but he didn't have much to add on it. Just wondering if anyone has seen this and what type they might call it.

Also, I'm almost 5mths pg. now and have our u/s on MOnday to check out the baby and see what it is. Just needed a little extra prayers for a good u/s. Even since having Averi and her having no problems, I still get nervous for this part. I figured you'd all understand. Thanks!!

First off I pray that everything goes well with the u/s...As far as the seizure the first thing that pops into my head is a Tonic Seizure.

Hey Kori, good to see you........Glad to hear that everything is going so well. I can't believe you are 5 mos along already. Will be praying that all is wonderful with the ultrasound. As far as the seizure I'm not sure either, but will be praying you are able to find out.....
Love to you all

Congrats on the pregnancy. We'll be sending good thoughts your way that the u/s is perfect.

Is Chloe rigid during these episodes? If so, my guess would be tonic seizures. We've seen our share of those. Ugh. Hate seizures!

Glad to "see" you here. Hugs to the girls!!

Prayers for tomorrow.
The seizures sound like they could be tonic or complex partials. BTW- I love her smile her in your sig pic.:D :D

I was thinking partial. Liz had a partial in front of me once. She was able to continue the conversation, but she rocked, and her eyes got all wonky (I believe that is the medical term!;) ), and her breathing was labored. Not sure if that is what you are seeing based on your description. Does she continue to be responsive?

Wonky--that's it! Who needs med school?? You're ready to start treating patients! :p :D

To me the sz sound kinda complex partialish. These are what Ava often has.

I agree with Mom2Ava that I too think they sound like complex partial seizures. They definitely don't sound like tonic-clonic as they are convulsive---and believe me, you can't miss them (I've had more than my share with my daughter over the past 2 weeks :(

My daughter has multiple seizure types and your description sounds a lot like she does with the complex partial. My daughter has a lot of slow eye roving movement that are pre-seizure signs for her.

CONGRATS!!!!

I missed the post about you expecting! How exciting! WE will be thinking about you and sending postive perfect U/S thoughts!

I am not sure about the seizure- sounds like a CP to me as well, although if she got stiff I would say Tonic like Wendy too.

I LOVE her new picture, she is really getting all grown up!

Kori-
I had forgotten that you were expecting again! How awesome!!! I pray you are getting good results today. I know how scary those tests can be; please know that we are all thinking of you and update us as soon as you can.

Take care!

Thanks everyone! Everything went well with the u/s and all looks good. We will go back at 28wks just to do a double check but so far all is good with the baby.

Also, it's a girl!! Luckily my dh wasn't set on having a boy so we will have 3 girls now. I am pretty happy about it. Part of me wanted a boy for the experience but I do love my girls!

Thanks again!!
