Hello I was wondering how lyrica is working for you?

It is working for me! :-D I've been taking it for just over a month now but it is helping.

I forgot to take it one night about 2 weeks ago now and wow, I really did feel it!! I didn't know if it was actually doing anything for me at all but when I missed that one dose, the next day my pain level was really horrible and the numbness in my legs was just as bad as it had been before I began taking it. The next day things were much better for me!

I just recently upped it to 2 a day so hoping in another couple of weeks to see even better results than I have so far. I took it at bedtime every night to start with and for about 5 days it helped me to sleep better than I have for a long time. The only other side effect I had was lightheadedness. That was so annoying!! When I started taking 2 a day there was only one day that I got sleepy and again dealt with some lightheadedness but it's gone now.

Hugs,
Karen

Me too improvement in overall feel.. pain receptors arent so easily set off it seems and the jabs and electrical activity seems diluted to a more tolerable level. I am now taking 150mg twice daily.. sometimes feel almost drunk though not likin that much hopefully it will tone down soon.

I tried for 6 weeks, then I was in so much pain so I got back on Neurontin.

I've also noticed the electrical activity is down as well now that you mention it Sandel. :D I guess it's even doing more than I thought! Awesome!! LOL Right now I'm taking 100mg a day. 50mg pills, 2 x's a day. The doc wants me up to 3 a day but I'm taking it slow as my body doesn't tolerate rapid rises in medications very well. I'm very small and that's another reason why.

That's always the thing I hate most is dealing with the side effects when adjusting to a dose. It sucks but goes away quick. Have you just started taking the 150mg a day? If you have I say give it a week or so and it should calm down by then.

Norway, sorry to hear it didn't do anything for you. We all know that none of us react the same to the meds that they give us to help with the different aspects of RSD. Neurontin for me was pure he**. It really turned me into a monster!! And that was only taking 1 pill a day for a week. I quit taking it soon enough though once we realized it was the med doing that to me.

Karen

So, come here and check this post for...............

Hello

I am taking 150 mg twice daily and I'm having problems with it.. I feel drunk and disorented alot I am distressed about it and concerned.. I think doubling the dose was too much for me, but it's helping so much this is where the distress is coming from. :( I'd feel and act drunk to releave this pain. I'd be the drunk lady down the road but I don't wanna have to, I need more choices (psst.. feelin pretty drunk right now)

The rebound pain (might be) when we miss a dose is a nasty flare up and that concerns me too as its worse with higher doses it seems, and or I might just be on too high a dose and be reacting but electrical activity my hands seems to increase when I feel the most disoriented.

Leaving to see the chronic pain specialist.. odd it never seems so bad after the drunk times, I will see what she thinks but methinks I need to decrease dose:(

It sounds like it's working for you I am so glad Karen.. I think it's great for me too just too much mabie.

Sandra

I agree. It definitely sounds like it's too high a dose for you. You shouldn't be feeling like that after taking it, not all the time. What did your doc say by the way? IMO, any upping of the dose of meds needs to be a little at a time slowly so as to minimize any side effects.

Karen

Doc said it may take longer for my body to adjust so we try another 2 weeks but guess what I just found here:

{Thanks Rain}.

Awesome!! :D I'm so happy to hear it got better for you.

Sad news on my end though. I know now that it works but I had to quit taking it. I finally found last year's income tax return and hubby made too much money for me to qualify getting it free from the company. :( I was seriously disappointed and upset. I may never be able to get back on it unless they come up with a very affordable generic form. I can't afford to get it the way it is now. I can only imagine the price for 90 pills a month but figure it has to be over $60 a month. Ah well....life goes on.

Hey there. Lyrica works well for me. I personally love it, as it helps with allodynia. I am on 150 mg three times a day, and take it along with other meds.. It does cause double vision though, so you have to watch for that!

Good luck! *bunch

I couldn't handle the weirdness of lyrica but take away my topomax and it is a match to the death :D
I love the stuff !!!!!I am glad it is working for all 3 of you though :)
Neurontin made me a monster too Karen on the lowest dose of 300 mgs a day.
I was OUT OF IT!!!!!!
Apparently I put my sister's car in reverse while we were driving  .I was not a happy camper .I don't remember of course .This was quite some time ago. That is my story and I am sticking to it ;)
My PM doc wants to add namenda to the mix .It couldn't hurt with my short term memory!Have any of you had any experience with this drug?

Take good care
