ADHD can be a symptom of Celiac Disease, and responds well to elimination of gluten from the diet. This is a great overview article about Celiac Disease~

Gluten sensitivity can also be present without biopsy proven Celiac Disease. Although this truth is not universally accepted, the shift in thinking and supportive research is well underway, particularly in regard to neurologic symptoms.

William J. Walsh reports:
Nutritional treatment is an "effective alternative to RitalinRegistered, CylertRegistered, DexadrineRegistered, and NorpraminRegistered frequently administered to underachievers" (Walsh, 1991). Based on treatment of 500 children treated nutritionally for ADD, dyslexia, hyperactivity, and 'learning disability', Walsh reports a "success rate of over 70 percent" (Walsh, 1991). These types of patients were taken off regular medications after the nutritional intervention had achieved chemical balance. Walsh reports that amphetamine-type prescriptions are withdrawn safely without an adverse reaction in most cases after 2-3 months (Walsh, 1991). Overall, nutritional intervention "appears to be about 85 percent, 70 percent, and 60 percent effective for children with learning disabilities, hyperactivity, and ADD, respectively" (Walsh, 1991).

I just discovered a blog that people might find interesting/entertaining/ informative:
Experiencing ADDvantages (http://www.experiencingaddvantages.com/life_of_a_successful_adult_with_add/index.html)
Jen's humorous. And also understanding. Not only does she cope with ADD personally on a daily business, she also helps others in her professional life.
A lot of tips. A lot of good advice. A touch of humor. A very good blog.
