I am a big advocate for breastfeeding your baby. So much misinformation is out there about what medications are safe, and what isn't. I have a nursing baby myself, which has deeply complicated my medical treatment, but is too important for me to sacrifice. These two websites are great for checking to see if a medication will be safe while nursing. They have been immensely helpful to me, as I hope they will be to other mothers who have to take medications.

Dr. Thomas Hale has published several books on the topic and is always running more research to analyze breastmilk to check the levels of excretion. He also has a board where clinicians can post to check if a medication their patient is on will be dangerous while nursing: http://neonatal.ttuhsc.edu/lact/

Kellymom is a great resource for everything relating to breastfeeding, but they keep an up-to-date list of common medications approved by the AAP while nursing. It also lists vitamins, procedures and nutritional supplements that are safe or should be avoided: http://kellymom.com/health/index.html

i know this great resource that's a useful information database for comparing the prices of many online pharma companies...

http://www.price-rx.com/

also has a very interesting "Medicinal facts" page! :)

example: The average cost of developing and bringing a new prescription drug to market is $802 million. It usually takes between 10 and 15 years to develop and bring a new medication to market.

Where did you find such info? All I see on that website is people on medications encouraging one another to stay on the medications and not seek other alternative and safer methods of treatment.
