Please see Rose's updated B12 site: http://roseannster.googlepages.com/home

Digestion of vitamins and minerals is often compromised in Sjogrens because of the poor quality of our saliva. Saliva is the beginning of the digestive cycle and if you have limited saliva or poor quality saliva, digestion will be poor and difficult.

Lack of B12 can cause neurological disease including neuropathy which is horribly painful.

I wasn't diagnosed with Sjogrens, but have suffered with a dry mouth and tears over the past few years. I did a lot of experimentation over many months, and found that one teaspoon of brown vinegar in a little water, juice or in mashed vegetables at the night meal, eased the dryness - I don't often suffer the dryness now.
The vinegar seems to stimulate the saliva glands. It also eased constapation, so it must be good for the digestive system also.
- white or apple cider vinegar didn't seem to be strong enough -

I have found that my symptoms are much, much worse at night.
In order to control them, as well as gargling with and drinking water, I chew sugarless gum every time I get up to go to the bathroom. This starts the saliva. If I do not get up often enough to go to the bathroom I drink a lot of water and eat nothing with salt before bedtime.
It really does help.
