View Full Version : Thank you Sunkiss!
Thank you sunkiss! I only WISH I had saved all of TamaraShadow's posts that go back several years! For those who don't know, the forum archives were lost when the BrainTalk server crashed a good while back--so POOF went all of TamaraShadow's posts! TamaraShadow is a seasoned lawyer and offered a tremendous wealth of information regarding the in's and out's of Workers Comp. Her experience and wisdom has benefited me and others--and will continue now, if those valuble archives can be found and re-posted as Sunkiss is now doing!
Again, thank you Sunkiss!!:)

No problem, just glad I saved them. I know there would be no way I could have retyped them myself if I had originally posted and lost them.
I'm going to look and see if I saved more.
I have a ton of California WC documents, in particular a searchable CD-ROM that came with a huge 2 binder book called "California Workers Compensation Law and Practice" that I found incredibly useful for challenging the insurance company, preparing for court, etc. It's not big, but not sure how to attach it here. Maybe I'll post elsewhere and post a link for others to download if interested.
I'm finally going to trial Thursday (after 7 LONG years), but I'll probably settle with SCIF right before only because I need to get out of this system once and for all. After that, I'll avoid anything related to workers comp just to try and move on because the anger is doing me no good.... but I'd like to contribute back the things that helped me so hopefully others can make use of them. The better armed you are with proper information regarding your rights, the further you get....

below are links to my other wc resources; maybe you'll find them useful. I really cant type anymore so copying text out of these documents/ books was extremely handy over the years.
the Neo Calculator I was able to get by pretending to be an insurance adjuster... :p . and the ACOEM elbow scan is only useful if you have arm injuries.... when SCIF tried to deny treatment citing this book as the reason (which I knew wasn't true), I ponied up and bought the $200 book, which of course, proved their citations/reasons for declining were baseless.

best of luck to you all, and hope you all stay as healthy and strong as possible.
this is the worst system ever.... if not for my private doctors, I'd be screwed and armless.... I'm just glad I havent let them "win" by squeezing me financially until I had to walk away just to salvage my mental wellbeing. If I thought I could help others without reliving my own experience and getting too emotionally vested, I'd go be a WC lawyer.... its what I spent learning the past 7 years anyway ... only other way I could think of to help is to spread the resources I've accumulated to others.
Ultimately they are getting off easy, for a PD they agree is 66%, but I'd never use them for future treatment anyway and just need to move on..... I was 25 when this started... what a waste. oh well!
