I am new to this sight and have many things going on. I think this sight will be the best for me. pcp rx almost 10 years now and of course major depression and problems with fear. I read some time ago in AARP newspaper that fms gets worse as you age? I will be 60 this year and the only thing that has gotten worse is the depression and fear. Anyone else facing this?

Please forgive my spelling, I have not down loaded the spell check yet,

I don't think the fibromyalgia gets worse with age, I think that other degenerative conditions associated with aging cause new and different sources of pain and discomfort. Fibromyalgia, doesn't confer immunity to osteoarthritis, osteoporosis or anything else that comes with aging.

I am 71 and have had fibromyalgia since I was 23. When I was working, I wasn't able to do much besides go to work (part time), do my .3 of a mile in a pool, 3 x a week, cook, eat and sleep. Retirement means that there is no reason not to get enough rest and sleep. I don't have to force myself out of bed in the morning, I can roll over and go back to sleep or just lie there, warm and comfortable. However, there is also the need to keep up all the routines and habits that you have learned in the past, that keep your fibromyalgia manageable. Cheerio.
