not much to say I guess.
Little off topic - had to take oldest boy for cast change to Balboa.
Saw a bunch of young guys - some were young enough to be mine - missing a leg - and several missing both.:(
Kinda been in a funk since. And we have to go twice this month....pre-op and a few minute procedure to remove the wire helping the screw hold that wrist bone together.
I mean - what do you say when you see them? Nothing I can think of would be 'good'.
I don't want to start a talk about the pros/cons of WHY we're there - or anything political at all. Please.

Hi CF. It really was nice to see your name when I came on this morning :)
I don't know the story behind some of your post, but I just wanted to send you some comforting vibes this morning (((CF))).

CF, it isn't always easy when faced with people in such situations. I have found that they just want to be talked to like any one else. if you would normally ask what they are planning on doing this summer then ask them that question. If you are a person that normally ask what their family is like, ie how many brothers and sisters, then ask that. Once the ice is broken, it will be a conversation like any other.
How is your son's wrist healing? Is it progressing like they hoped? It is good to see you back again.

Thanks guys.
Jenna - no real story - have to take John to military hospital - and see the young kids that are still recovering. John had surgery a few months back for a broken bone in his wrist. But this past time is the first that I"ve seen so many guys.
It seems to be progressing well (the wrist). He has a shorter cast at the moment.
Maybe I'll bring some homemade cookies next time.

You know CF, when you said "Saw a bunch of young guys - some were young enough to be mine - missing a leg - and several missing both", the first think I thought was you had a son somewhere out there, as if you gave him up for adoption some time ago! Sorry! :o

No - lmao....rode the shuttle out to the hospital with a bunch of active duty people - and they were all born around '85 or so....being that I had my learner's permit that year, I'm talking like an old lady now! :)

Cf,
Happy to see you are posting again, you have been missed.
Sorry about the ordeal your going through and I can see how it would be depressing.
I often find myself not knowing what to say in situations like that, when you want to say something to let them know how much you care, but what?

Not sure what I was thinking, lol.
It must be hard to see that :(
I hope your son's wrist heals quickily!
