I am looking to see if anyone knows if there is a sugar free actiq? I keep reading that it was going to be avail in 2006. I went to fentora when I started to have to have all my teeth extracted. I do not like the fentora much at all for pain or for the fact that I get bad mouth sores but am scared I will have no teeth left if I go back to actiq. Just didnt know if anyone had any ideas? thanks so much Kristin

Just a thought, have you talk to your pharamacist? And maybe if they don't know, call the others in your area. Sorry I can't help more.

Plz, let us know if you find out the answer. I hope you do soon.

Take care of you

Just curious, anyone on Fentora for b/t pain..does it give you a horrendous HA (like a hangover-although its been MANY YEARS since I have had a hangover) that I don't think I like Fentora very much.

anyone?

And does fentora cause dental problems?

I was on actiq and switched to fentora after having 5 teeth extracted with many more problems to go. I know everyone said that you can use much less but I ended up on 400mcg of fentora which was what I was on with the actiq. I did not think the pain relief was all that great. It was fast, but went away fast as well and I got many many blisters in my mouth within minuites of using the first one.
I am frustrated and want to go back to the actiq but I just cant take the teeth problmes. I dont think people are having dental issues with fentora as they dont have the sugar like the actiq does. I keep reading that they were ok'd to make a sugar free actiq in 2005 and it would be avail in the first half of 2006 but cant find anywhere that it really exists. That would be PERFECT> good luck, kristin

I found in the Wikipedia the free encyclopedia that there is a Sugar Free Version of Actiq called Actiq SF and all it says is that it is suppose to be available in the first quarter of 2007.

So I am not sure if it is available or not. I checked out the CVS website which is a pharmacy here. And it is not listed there only Actiq is listed on their website.

Here is a number I got off the Actiq website. 1-800-896-5855. Maybe you should try calling them and asking about their Sugar Free Actiq. If that number dosen't work let me know there was another one listed.

Thank you all for all your replies however I did call chephelon. I figured what better way to find out than straight from them. Man it was a long call though. They wanted to know all about my issues with actiq and then fentora and all kinds of stuff. Anyway they said that although they did get approval from the FDA the making of the sugar free actiq has been put on hold indefinatly. I am pretty bummed. She said it was for technical reasons. Did not give much info. She did however remind me that although the doctors are able to do what they want and write the script for the medicine for whatever they see fit but that it is indicated for cancer pain. She also did ask me if they had any questions did they have my permission to call my doctor for answers? I said yes but then started to think why would they need to call him. Hope that was not stupid. Oh well I did get an answer, however not the one I was hoping for. thanks again for the input. take care. Kristin
