Hi, I just realized that this site is back up and running thanks to Krashleen! And it could not have happen at a better time, I finally found a surgeon to do my surgery on 6/28! I am happy and scared completely out of my mind (no pun intended)

Couple of questions, Anyone here have Dr. Dan S Heffez? ANd if so can you tell me anything about his procedures regarding post op? I know I should have asked him myself but I have been to so many doc's that told me to just live on pain med's the rest of my life, that this WAS my lot in life. That I literally went into complete SHOCK when he sd that I desperately need surgery and asap!

Another question, what things helped you through home recovery? And another what should I bring to the hospital that might help has well.

Well, glad to be back and I hope to be to help others in the future!
Take care of YOU

Laptop...whisper in your DH's ear about a LAPTOP!!! you need one. HAHAHA!!

We will be here for you, but sorry I cannot help you with Dr Heffez and I am sure someone will be along shortly to update you on his post-op pain management and all.

Blessings!

Hi

I did not have that Dr, but I did have surgery on March 30. Similar to you the doctors all told me there was nothing they could do and then I ended up having emergency surgery because I had been put off for so long.

What I have found helps is to keep up on pain medication. I didn't for a few days because I wasn't feeling well and ended up in the ER to get my pain under control. I have been icing my neck which has been good and helps with the swelling. A comfy pair of pajamas that does not pull over your head is good too, since you will live in them for a while. In the hospital I highly recommend bringing your own pillow. Hope that helps.

Hi Jess...glad to hear that you bounced back after not having your pain controlled.

Its very, very important to just keep on schedule with your pain meds. Don't forget that!

Also, muscle relaxers are your friends...

My PFD was just over a year ago..
