Maybe this study will push for more studies into the effectiveness of spinal surgery since it is contrary to many other studies. Many of the other studies show that after three years both groups are about the same. That has always be hard for me to believe based on my experience and this is the first study that has really supported the advantage of spinal surgeries.
Jena, thanks for posting the link.

This study had nothing to do with what most back pain patients sufer from and cannot be extrapolated to any patient population. The benefit only applies for the patient with spinal stenosis induced by degenerative spondylolisthesis.
That is a very small number of back pain patients.
