I forgot to post this yesterday, and now it may be too late!!

I leave at 7 am  What can I expect? I am getting a think is a Trigger Point Injection? Where they put you "kind of" under...

Is it painful afterwards, the back I mean? Then it gets better? Or, will I feel the effects, if any, right after? Any other advice?? Thanks!

Oh, I am getting it above the sacrum this time. I guess in the L3-L5??

Dang Jena,

I just saw this...sorry 'bout that!

I could be wrong but it sounds more like a Selective Nerve Root Injection, Facet, ESI??? The trigger point injections I have had were just itty bitty needles and no, they did not give me anything. Those were just quick and over with; no big deal at all. That's why I THINK you are talking about an SNRI or Facet injection. But post back and let us know.

Oh, boy, and you would ask all those other questions LOL! I am just going to have to say...it depends. The numbing medicine alone should last for a few hours; then it wears off. You may be sore the next day. So, I would suggest putting a cold pack/ice pack on your backside as soon as you get home for a little while. It helps! And just know the steroid may take awhile to kick in. So, please give it at least two weeks before you call them back and say it didn't work! Just kidding you! Sometimes I have had relief right away and at others it took almost 3 weeks. Also, it may or may not be the pain generator. But you will find out with time and if you get some relief. Most of the time the injections have worked for me. BUT there were a few times they were done and it just wasn't the right level. But you will know.

I was stupid and made the mistake of calling the docs office complaining that it didn't work at all only to be told to give it a little while longer. And sure enough, they were right! :D

Thanks Kathi! I started another thread about this, but wanted to thank you for your feedback :) I had a couple questions on the other one, so hopefully you will "swing by" and offer some more of your "motherly advicce! lmao But you know me so well! (I WOULD have called in about 4 days if it still hurt!, I swear!
