This is better than the newsweek article that says chronic pain should keep anyone from having an active life. It is the Mayo clinic that is the main info for the article and I haven't heard the best things out of Mayo when it comes to spinal issues or our pain. I should say the excerpts that are on the internet as I have heard the total article was better in Newsweek than the excerpts.

Thanks Lea,
I really enjoyed that article. My brain has definitely kept a diary and I am glad to see it addressed CRPS. Looks like Walter Reed AMC is on it. :D

The article referenced by Lea IS the Newsweek article.
I think it is a very good article. It speaks about the very poor way of trying to assess pain with that ridiculous 1-10 scale. More importantly, it talks about something I never knew....women feeling pain much worse than men....here is the quote:
"Women have up to twice as many nerve fibers in the skin as men do, so they feel some types of pain more intensely. (This doesn't mean they're weaker; it means that, all other factors being equal, their 10 is off a man's chart.) "
Read it....many interesting points.
Hope you are all doing well today.
All my best,
Diandra
