View Full Version : The time has come to say goodbye.

I've decided to take this time to let everyone know that this will be my last post here.
I have a lot going on these days and to be honest this place doesn't really fit with my needs anymore.
The help I have received over the years has been great but lately this place has changed and it just isn't the same. During one of my last posts I was insulted and basically called a liar. I will not mention any names but the ones who did it know who they are.
I can also see that I do not fit in with the clique here. In fact when the board was acting up recently, no bothered or cared to ask how I was or where I was as was done with other posters. It is not a big deal but it does but a perspective on things.
It's funny but I've found that the more I hang around on this website the worse I became. Now having found other more constructive avenues I find that I no longer deal with chronic pain and for a month and a half
I have been on a taper program from my doctor and will be off the Oxycontin very soon. :D It was the best decision I made in a long while.
It hasn't been all bad and there are those select few that were there when needed or responded kindly to my posts. To those people I wish to say goodbye. Thank you for all you have done. I will miss you.
So I will now say goodbye to the know it alls, rude posters, and people who think the world revolves around them as I no longer have time for any of you.

Glenn,
I hate to see you go as well. And I hate to hear what had happened. Maybe I just didn't see that post you are speaking of. And just know that sometimes not all of us see all the posts. I have done that myself only to find one I MEANT to answer and had forgotten or got busy or something. Anyway, I don't think it is that no one cares or anything. I know when the system was down for awhile I just resorted to email because I had no patience waiting for this site to come back up.
I also know it is tough, tough, tough to explain the head pain deal. I shouldn't say no one understands it. But for a long time I used to hang out on the occipital neuralgia board because they seemed to understand the pain I was speaking of. And of course the Spinal Disorders board.
But I DO know what you mean by reading things and having them affect you. I know sometimes if I read way too much, I become sad for myself and others and then I start to have pity parties for myself. And when I start to feel "down" is when I know I need to back off my PC for a few hours or a couple of days until I can regroup. Besides that it just plain hurts to sit for a long period of time. And I DO think it is a good idea to have other avenues to help distract you or me or anyone else from pain. I know I have a couple of hobbies and I set them aside for awhile. But just recently I started picking them back up again. It DOES help to distract one.
Anyway, glad to know you can taper off the Oxycontin...that's a good thing! And I do hope you get to feeling better. I wish you would stick around but I also understand why you feel you must go. I just wanted to say I wish you well. :)

It is good to hear you are having less chronic pain and are able to go off the Oxy. I hope you continue to feel better.

Good to hear your pain has decreased. Sorry you will be leaving the forums -- but if that seems like what you need to do, then hopefully it is the right choice.

How ironic too, I was actually just talking about you to my DH :( I am also sorry you feel that way, and although I could not find the post you were referring to, I understand your need to do what you have to do since you now feel better. But, as easy as it is to do when we start to feel better, I would really try not to leave with such bitterness, especially being here for as long as you have, and I personally can recall many conversations that were focused only on you and your health. I, being a part of some of them. Just try to remember those, not only the bad, whereever they may be...
Good luck to you!

Quahog I'm sorry to see you leave, but I understand that you may need to. I also looked for the post where people were ugly to you and couldn't find it, but I hope that you continue to do better.

It's always great to hear such good news. I'm happy that you are doing so much better. While you are doing well and have some energy, it would be a good time to find a new Doctor that will be able to help you if you ever find yourself needing one.
Be Happy!

Glenn,
While its kind of sad that you have those feelings, it pales in comparison to the fact that you seem to be on an envious path to feeling better. That fact trumps any negative feelings, I think. I wish I could say the same thing about how I feel. I'd love to be on a taper.
Pain free life,
Pete

Glenn,
I haven't been here for a long time. I am sad to read how you are feeling towards the board in general.:(
However, it is so good to read that you pain is decreasing:) and you are in the process of going through a taper. You won't have time to be on here posting as you will be able to get back to enjoying your life.
Do drop by if you want to from tiime to time to just say hello and let us know life is still treating you well.
Although, you maynot believe it just know there are more people here who care for you than you realize.
