I've heard repeatedly that Cymbalta is "hard on the liver". Now I'm taking Lipitor which requires regular blood work to check liver function. What can you tell me about the effects of taking both of these drugs?
Many thanks, bluebirdy

Laboratory Tests
No specific laboratory tests are recommended.
This is from the Cymbalta literature... however.. there is reference to not giving it to people with hepatic problems.
When taking Lipitor ... liver enzymes need to be monitored every 6-12 months... as long as liver enzymes remain in the normal range ... there should be no reason or concern.

BB, I have used Cymbalta for three years without any liver damage so far. I have mine tested every 6 months, it has come back clean each time.
