Hey all :)
I go back to PM on Monday. 2 weeks ago he did increase my Oxy from 40 to 60mgs BID. I have to say that I think I may be at a dose that is working. However, I cannot seem to take 60 at one time without it making me very, very sleepy. So, I will take 40 in the morning, then 20 a few hours later. The same thing later in the evening. But, it just does not give me the same relief for some reason.
I am wondering what other drug would be closest to Oxy in your opinion? He mentioned a couple of options last week, but the only one I can recall is the Morphine. So, if he offers to change it, will that be something hard to do - tapering off one to start another? Or, is that how they even do it?
OH! One more thing. Since the first injection he gave me really did not do anything, he said the next step would be to do a deeper injection, therefore going under some sort of anesthesia. He did not mention if it would be done the same day as my appt or not, (it is done at a different facility as outpatient). So, I wonder if I need someone to take me to my appt Monday? I could just call in the am, but I would like to make arrangements now if there is a good chance you all think I will need a ride. (I think it is only "twilight anesthesia)
Thanks!
