Been puking since yesterday afternoon. Each time would increase the pounding in my head.
After the 10th time puking I call the doctor's office - all I want is phenerghan suppositories....they say go to emergency room.
Ugh.
Was only there 3 hours and they gave me some groovey meds. ativan, phenerghan and morpine. Works far better than what primecare would give me.
I had serious dehydration - plus of course my peripheral nerves junk.

Curiousforever,
I do not know anything about your condition but am glad that you got releif. I have been dehydrated many times due to stomach problems. The ER seems the best place to go because they can rehydrate you and give you the meds that you need!
Hope you continue to feel better.
Dreaming Big and Reaching for the Stars, Or maybe it could be all the meds I have to take (lol), Javisi:D

CF, I'm so sorry you have been feeling so poorly, however it is great that you got treated so well and quickly at the ER, after hearing so many horror stories about CP'ers and ER'S.
Keep us updated and I'll be sending out positive energy to you !!
Hugs,
Linda

The funny thing is the way the er doc looked at me when he found out all the meds I take. He didn't look happy at all that I was there. At least until I told him I had gotten my refills the day before and didn't think about phenerghan - cause the vomiting didn't start till later in the day.
He turned real nice when I asked for phenergan suppositories. Then he even gave me great meds thru the IV....
I thought it was quite funny.

Hi CF,
I know we all groan when we hear those words, "Go to the ER" yet in your case it sounds like it really worked for the best. Just the fact that you were only there 3 hours is nothing short of amazing. Around here (CT) when you go to the ER you have to expect to spend the day.
I hope you continue to feel so much better from the ER visit.
Take care,
Diandra

CF,
Its great to hear that things went well at the ER for you.
I just wanted to let you know that the phenegran works wonders, but I guess you already know that. I always keep a few put away in case of an emergency.
Hope your still feeling better!!

CF,
I am glad things worked out for you too! And I am with you and Lisa...I guard phenergan like gold! I did get an Rx for the pills this last time although the suppositories work faster. When all else fails, they are the absolute best to have on hand. And as far as ER visits go, I used to get a shot of Toradol AND Phenergan which totally knocked out those headaches and the nausea I had with them.

Hey CF, how are you today? You've been gone a couple days, so just checkin in on ya!
That is funny about the Dr  They always assume everyone is looking for drugs.
I remember once I was having abdominal pain for 2 days straight! I am talking "contraction" like pain. It was like being in labor for 2 days   I though I was getting my "friend", or a cyst bursted, or I was constipated. But nope to all. I still don't know what happened.
Anyway, when I was explaining my pain to the triage nurse, she had that look on her face like "yeah, ok  " Doc was the same way, but when I looked at him straight in the eye and said "I already take pain meds! but they are not working!! He gave me Demerol, :D
God, I hate ER Doctors, I really do! The last one told my hubby when he tore his every single tendon from his from his bicept. You could see it hanging down! "nothing we can do, you will just have to walk around with it like that, like everyone else it happens to. It's very common". Can you believe that?
Our PCP ordered immediate surgery

I've been exhausted. At my doc follow up from ER, he went ahead and gave me anothet script for pherghan. And nexium. once he found out how much I pay, he gave me some samples for that.
apparently I have some virus - and it's in my colon right now - from the pain I've had there.
you know how you pretty much only feel whatever hurts the most? I've barely had any in the 'normal' spots cause of all the pains in the new spot.
Thanks for asking. romooor I must go into town. So I will be up and at 'em - that is probably part of the problem....
