g'day;
had an aneursym clipped in july, communcating artery, was
released from hosp on the w/end after another clipping, same artery.
the first one ruptured and the second did after the surgeon manipulated it.
was told that the artery in question is "weak- thin".
i need to know if an artery can be used from another part of the body,
similar to heart bypass? or can someone steer me in the direction of an
answer.
thanking you

Congratulations on surviving 2 ruptures! You're exceptionally fortunate! Yes, to your question of bypass, but they usually use an artery - I've heard they can take it from just about anywhere, but it's a LONG surgery! That was an option for me when I had my surgeries done! The first was clipping (that failed for me), the second was coiling (that worked) and the third was bypass (which we didn't have to do). Is there more surgery in the future for you?? Hope you're doing well and healing without problems!
Chris
G'day
I noticed your greeting line and I wondered if I have found another Aussie on the site??? There are a few of us here. If so, where are you from - I am from country NSW and I had an unruptured annie clipped a couple of years ago.
As Chris said, congratulations on becoming another annie survivor! You have found a fantastic place to come and ask questions and get support here. We are not doctors, but we have a huge amount of 'collective experience' to share.
Cheers
Lyn:)

I hope the link highlights for you to click on. I found a section on bypass if it does not take you straight to it, just look on the menu on the left.
Take care & drink lots of water!! Get lots of sleep!!!! I had a rupture last June, one year post surgeries this month. Sorry you had to join this group, but it is great to know how many others who are out there going through the same thing!! Good support groups out there! Good luck & I will keep you in my prayers!
