I go back for my monthly refill Friday.

The lump above my scar from nerve biopsy - I remembered it's not attached to anything from what they can tell - it gets bigger and smaller...smaller and bigger. Some days you can see it poking out pretty well. I'm going to mention that to him again.

Plus I've been having new nerve pain - bee stings, stuff in the wrong leg (aka left leg - which I used to have NO problems out of) and more nerve pain....

It's been over a year since there have been any tests. Last visit he didn't feel the need to do any.

If so, what tests? I don't think he 'believes' in emg/ncv.....

Maybe an mri of your lumbar spine? You might also need an evoked potential on your legs, I had one done and it wasn't bad at all. Just a thought.

hi I don't have a clue about the test but you know where you hurt and what you feel. the Dr. needs to listen, you would think?

Grab him by the coat tails and tell him you arent finished if he just starts walking out. Some Drs. are bad to do that. You have be aggresive some times. they seem to forget they work for US, not the other way around!

Good luck and I hope he will at least try to find out why you are having these problems. take care, Jo

Hi curious,
If you are having new neurological symptoms, the doctor will likely start out with a thorough history and neuro exam. If he/she decides to order a test, it would likely be an MRI to make sure nothing in your spine has changed that is causing the new symptoms. However, I don't know your situation, so that is just an educated guess.

best wishes,
kurt

Thanks.

I really don't want to change docs, as this one is treating my pain - so I can actually do *something*...ya know?

I'll just tell him what's going on and request the tests....

Alright, he's referring me to a neuro so they can do more testing.

Good, I'm glad they are sending you to a neuro because they will know what tests you need to have done. The evoked potential I mentioned is something that my neuro ordered done on me, because I have decreased reflexes and I jerk constantly, so they wanted to check to make sure the nerves in my legs were getting the symbols they were supposed to. It didn't hurt a bit.

CF I'm glad to hear that they decided to do more testing. It sounds like your doctor took you seriously and went ahead with the referral and I know that must make you feel better!! Let us know when your appointment is.

Take Care,

Keep us posted on how the tests go CF. I wish you weren't hurting so much, that has to be really annoying and frustrating that it's happening in the 'good leg' now. I wish you the best in finding some help for this problem. :)

CF, I hope the test determine what is causing your problem and it is good to hear you were sent to a NS.
