Hey everybody.

I have an idea for a big project. I want to start doing some drawings (maybe even some paintings and/or sculptures) that relate to neurological disorders. I have myoclonus which is a movement disorder so I'm going to start with that. I want to gather these drawings and whatnots and form a book. I would also love to write some poems and/or some stories.

What I would like from you guys is some input. Ideas, comments, questions even complaints. I would also like some artwork from you folks as well. I would love to get some drawings, paintings, poems and/or stories. I wouldn't need the actual work, of course. For now, it's just for our community of neuros lol. I will be working full time for a while so I won't be able to work all day on my drawings. But my spare time will be used drawing, painting...whatever for this project.

I'm not sure what will come of this. What I would like to see is some kind of book and/or gallery showing. I think it would be great for us to express our thoughts about our own disorders so that others might grasp a better understanding of them. I can't speak for everyone else, but I get looks like I am nuts when I try to explain myoclonus.

Please let me know if you are interested - like I said, I won't have a lot of time to work on my own drawings for this, so I don't have any kind of deadline for this. I hope I can keep this ongoing for as long as possible. :D

Again, I welcome any kind of comments, questions, concerns and, of course, art work.

See ya soon,

Doodles,
Thank you for the inspiration. I too suffer from myoclonus. I have written a few poems. It helps me to destress. I have been wanting to do some watercoloring again. I amj just afraid. I am such a perfectionist, and it is hard to paint a straight line with the tremors and all. But you have given me that inspiration to try!

Javisi,

That's great!!! I'm soo glad. I would love to see those watercolors when you get a chance.

I know what you mean when you talked about being afraid to make mistakes. It is hard to have these jerks and keep coloring inside the lines. I just finished a piece myself that I've done a few times over because of a big line caused by one of my jerks. It's terribly frustrating. Maybe someday I will find a form of art where it wouldn't matter if I jerked or not. Free-form sculpture is fun like that.

I hope you enjoy the watercolors. I'd like to here how it goes

it definitely helps me express myself in words. i like to free write and become surprised at some of the stuff that i end up writing down. I love writing to music especially jazz.
