Can someone help this woman??

I know that there's a couple of top hydrocephalus doctors that you can send your films and records to to get a second opinion. One of them starts with "R". I just can't get my poor brain to remember the names :o

I just have a real strong feeling that she's being given bad advice that's gonna hurt her kid. Thanks a lot. Hugs.

Dr. Rekate? I just skimmed through the thread again. Did Susan say where she is? I hope she can see him. He's supposed to be one of the best.

Thanks, Liz. That's it. I had the "R" -- I just couldn't pull the rest of it out of my pathetic brain and I couldn't find anything in the quote-archives-unquote.

Susan's in the greater Seattle area, I believe.

Thanks, again. I'll pass this on to her. I really hate to hear how her boy's suffering and she's being 'put off'.

Yep, I was gonna say Rekate earlier too...I couldn't post for some reason on the boards. It looked like the message sent, but...hopefully JL got things situated...

Thanks, Kathi.

I passed on the info. Hopefully, she can use it.

Hugs.

I know of someone from anouther board (who MIGHt be on this board, I don't remember and haven't seen this person if this person is on this board in a long time) would a seccond shunt work? A ventricolostomy (the procedure where they drill a hole in a ventricle. (Might even out things a little bit...))

Is the current shunt working fast enough? Was he tested for any kind of blockages?

I met Dr. Rekate in Baltimore, albeit briefly, and the word in the NS community is that he is one of the best of the best! I had an online consult with him, now waiting for opinion on another issue, However we held off B/C if she had complications we were afraid of being there for to long. His answers were great and understandable to the layman.
