Hey Jennifer,
You asked about my hydro on another post but that one is looking pretty full, so I thought I'd respond here.

I did go through school and college with no accomodations, but it wasn't easy. I've always had a bit of memory difficulty which is not uncommon with hydro. I think for me it's a "recall" problem, trying to sift through my brain matter to get to the right stuff when I need it.

Multiple test were horrible. I did better in grad school because it was more reading and writing and not so much test taking.

I have my days during teaching too. I think I get tired more easily than most people my age, and always have. Even as a teen, I wanted to go to bed, when all my friends could stay up all night. I needed to learn my limits and learn when to say no.

There was some damage here and there on my brain I guess, from what my MRI's say, but it's hard to tell how long it's been there. I walked late, and had some developmental difficulties early on. My balance is crappy sometimes, esp, when I'm tired.

For the most part, however, I've managed okay. I apologize if I don't respond much on this site however...once the school week kicks in, my energy at night is low.

Work is going good. I had a co worker call me out Saturday night, he said I know you have a disability, but you don't have to call for me when you don't need me. By the time he gets up there to help me I have already got it bagged and they are ready to go. I usually get anywhere from 32-40hrs a week. How is Austin? I registrator for classes next month.

hi, my name is Jared Robertson and i have hydrocephalus to i also dont have too many friends. i get seizures often when i dont take my meds. its gotton so bad that i've lost my short term memory and cant drive a car so i have to lear to ride bublic transportation i hope you reply to this message thank you

Hi Jennifer,

I got sick with food poisoning from a restaurant! :( Was a bit worried as my headaches got terribly worse and I started vomiting before I went to bed and carried on all night long...so I was concerned that the pressure in my head had got too high. But the vomiting stopped yesterday so it was definately the food! This is one of the tricky things of my hydro...my headaches are constant so when I am sick I am not sure if it's my head pressure or a virus that's causing it. Maddening! Hope you are well and keeping happy! :)
