View Full Version : What is happening to BrainTalk?!?

I too have enjoyed better health and feel my life was spared only because I found BT years ago when I was near death due to B12 def.
Rose jumped in to help guide me when the Neuro's did nothing more than roll their eyes, and refer me elsewhere over and over till exhausted.
So I'm ever so grateful for all that's behind BT and its smooth operations.
It terrifies me to think about this...what if BT had been down when I was researching the cause of my failing health? Would I have died?

One year later when BT failed and the summer days got longer than the ONE AND ONLY promise made for a return of such an important medical web site....
I found my way to another Neuro site where I discovered "old" BT friends who also felt lost in the dark.
I once again found my way back to BT and was surprised to see it operational again...but not one word...but do they really owe anyone answers?!

There's no way of knowing what the real problem really was/is.

What really happened? Does it really matter now?

Could it have been they Lost their ISP, then a free site?

A Temp site could have been made in less than 5 mins.....to update any who tried logging onto BT at no cost, because the domain is free!

Posting one simple sentence/notice would be exceptionally easy.
Couldn't someone have taken 3 minutes to post one?

"Gee sorry, I've lost interest and you're on your own"

I live with an engineer and friends who build websites.
So the information regarding any of the above comes with loads of knowledge!

The why's and there-fores don't mean squat!
We can gripe or whine about what was done or wasn't.
Fact is there was NO DEMAND for funding or fees to run BrainTalk.
NOBODY owes ANYBODY ANYTHING!...........PERIOD!
But....in my not so humble opinion, someone could have done what was right...take less than 5 minutes, at least write one simple line to update.

Say ANYTHING! ANY word would have been better than......NOTHING!

I am more than willing to "pay my dues" if this would ensure smoother operations of BrainTalk and perhaps motivate the powers that be in this.
All they have to do is ask....and I'm sure there's a lot of us out there willing to make a small monthly contribution.
What if everyone gave just one dollar or more per year?
$40,000+ a year would be a lot of money for very, very little work to pay for top dollar equipment!

I worry about the future of BT....it's been terribly slow for weeks now.
I know it's not from my end as this is experienced by all 5 of our computers.
Also several other West Coast BT'rs complain of same.

I finally was able to log onto BT (taking over half hour worth of retrying over and over...but am not able to navigate within, I'm surprised I'm able to post this!)

It was so lonely not being in touch with my close cyber friends...
Suddenly unable to communicate with each other, we all spent the summer, feeling lost, lonely and abandoned.
We'd Post messaged daily...imagine losing friends like that for several months!
We had no idea that one day "the lights would go out".
(We now have email addresses to one another!)

Some how I've just lost faith and am now distrustful in what I felt was totally a "Bright Light" in this world of darkness...But I have learned from this.
Make sure you have a candle! And carry your OWN matches!

One day in the future I may try to log onto BT...only to find myself unable to.
I'll just have to assume that "The lights went out again!...and who knows how long it will be this time?!"
I have been pretty mute in adding my two cents into the last "crash", and not to be redundant...but with recent problems and little info given, I just had to say something this time!

Perhaps I'll have to "hang my hat" elsewhere.
But then again....should I hang my hat?

Like sands in the desert...when the wind blows...it shifts!
I wish God's Blessings on all fellow BT'rs.
And I pray we can continue this "privilege" of sharing and commiserating here on BT.
Till we meet again...sadly, Cheryl

Just a thought.....
Bulk email....ISP can send out half a million emails taking 5-10 mins, tops! Why do SPAMMMERS reach so many?!

Hello ,I haven't experienced the recent problems you mention with the site. However,I may have not been online at the time.I've seen your name before,,perhaps SSDI or Workers Comp?Anyway,I too was LOST when the site went down,I also found another site for some help, but it was nothing like Braintalk.I originally found the site while out of work due to an on the job injury.Sincethen I have been approved for social security disability(due to the job injuries).Without the help, compassion and experience from others on this site I would have been totally lost. Both agencies are a maze of law and plain mumbo jumbo.Unfortunatly while the site was down,I believe we lost some key members. One in perticular was "Liam" on the SSDI site.At this point in my life I don't NEED the sites od SSDI or W/c.But I have gratitude that there were those members when I needed help and vow to assist others in their search for help.Other sites are nothing more than people with insulting comments, wrong info.and I have found on the "Freeadvice"site ,members that seem to be in a contest to have the most postings.Much of heir replies are full of hot air and when no advice is given, you can count on an insult.OK to my point,I agree braintalk should get as many donations as possible to keep the site running, and those of whom who were fortunate enough to find the site, need to be here for the newbies. Thanks for the post.Be well and safe.Backless
