VANCOUVER, BC - I went to hear US Ambassador David Wilkins speak and schmooze at Behind the Spin: Fraser @ OPUS and caused a diplomatic faux-pas when I had a chance to ask the Ambassador if he was aware the vast, huge majority of Canadians "despised the US federal government". In fact, so do most Americans hate the US federal government, and as a point of fact this is not very scandalous news

Well medical cannabis is the only drug I take....cause it helps me and so many of you.

So legalize it and stop the insanty of the drug war.legalize all drugs and lets control it with education.TGell peop[le about addiction....tell kids.

Legalize drugs then the organized crime families have nothing to sell.

Legalize all d5rugs even heroin..... you get it threw a perscription if your already hooked.

well, grassman.

i certainly agree that people should be able to grow marijuana for medical use only. grass is a drug, yeah, why not legalize growing it? i think it would help a lot of people.

having said that, i want to share a story.

i live in a great neighborhood in detroit. for 30 years so far. one of my neighbors were a man and his wife. their kids were grown and lived elsewhere, but were in contact with their parents.

then his wife left...

the guy was about 70. had his own business all his life. had a lot of medical issues.

one day, there was a fire in his house. the whole neighborhood was out. one of my neighbors came out and talked to me about the fire. it seems the guy was growing grass in his attic with lights. his whole house, in fact. when the fire started, he fled. left his 2 rottweilers in the house, (now that's the part that really disgusts me. why leave your dogs in a burning house?) i saw animal control snaring the dogs a while later. the house was damaged, but repaired. someone else lives there now. i never knew if they got the guy who was growing the grass.

the kicker is...lol...a policeman lived right next door to the guy!

all three of us were about 25 year residents of the neighborhood when this happened. funny how we don't know what our neighbors are doing.

How about using that AeroGarden which is all over the TV these days as a popular infommercial? It's affordable and appears to be quite simple! Plus, it's hydroponic.

It just seems like that would be the way to go...If anyone tries that, let us know!! Unfortunately, I'm stuck with using prescription pain meds for my condition, as my wife doesn't have the same opinion on this matter as I do. :confused: too bad.

I agree that Maijuana should be legal. Even though I am a Nurse or I should say that I was a Nurse. I have seen so many patients that would benefit from it. Besides glaucoma, cancer patients would have less Nausea, It would increase their hunger, it would help them be more comfortable ect...;)

I beleive that the Government does not want it legalized because they would have a hard time selling it and make money off of it. They have tried to make it in pill form, but it does not work. If they could make it in pill form, they could control who gets it and the drug companies and many others would profit from this.:mad:

I personally don't smoke it, even though I think it would help decrease my symptoms. I guess I am a chicken to do it because of the legal ramifications!:o

I do not beleive that meth or drugs like that should be legalized, those drugs do nothing good for a person healthwise at all in fact it is harmful to them and society! Thefts increase, people get burns from meth labs, and their health is at risk! That is one drug I hate and wish was never developed:eek: .OR]

I was in Can. last week from what you and your fellow Med Heads say it seems to work up there.Ok it worked for me as well but only when I was in that country.
I guess once you cross the boarder THC becomes inactive and does not work for sick Americans but it seems to for the Canadians, I don't know, I find this plant to be very confusing

Hi Guys and Gals,
I usually hang out in the Chronic Pain Forum but I'm always lurking in here as I enjoy the openess and honesty here.

I just had to jump in on this thread as I have pretty strong feelings regarding making weed legal. I have always felt like Marajuana should be legal and I have felt this way for a long time, well since I was a teenager.

Making week legal would be the smartest thing that our government could do. Think about what's happened with our current laws. People are now going to doctors and getting strong narcotics then they become addicted, and then they will do whatever they have to in order to get their mext fix.

I realize that their will always be some people who will abuse anything and everything they can get their hands on. I also firmly believe that it should be used for medical purposes.

My own doctor told me in 2002 that he could control my pain issues and greatly reduce the stress of being disabled if he had the ability to prescibe marajuana. This doctor is one of the top 5 urologists in the United States.

So to sum it up our government is making alot of money from the drug companies for prescribing strong addictive narcotics AND we the human being that is suffering with CP is left out in the cold trying to find a way just to pay for these wonderful drugs!!

Ahhhh, I feel so much better having said that. I hope everyone here has a wonderful day!!

I wanted to jump in to say hi first of all...I'm normally in the trigeminal neuralgia forums but I thought I would explore other options since I started using Pot.

First of all I wanted to agree about the strong pain meds being rx'ed to people. They get you hooked, mental and physical., then you feel like you HAVE to take them to control the withdrawl symptoms you get when you dont take them. I KNOW, I'm going through it right now...Pot has helped me just as much as the oxycodone, without the side effects. I havent taken oxy in over 2 weeks and I still am having withdrawl symptoms! It's horrible!!!

I'm in oregon and I can get a med card for pot. I'm looking into it today!

I looked into the card yesterday and I can get it quite easy. I have to forward the clinic my chart notes then pay 200 to have a doctor sign the application.

I'm not sure about growing my own...I have never researched it and not sure how easy or hard it could be...

There are a million sites that give direction in growing. The best place for seed I have found is BCseeds in Canada.
You must be getting Sensimeilla which is usually cannibis indica strain. Usually there are no seeds as just the female plant is allowed to mature.
