Are you on any legit psych meds for mania. I'm bipolar also; I'm also an addict (opiates) and I used them to self medicate. I now take lamictal and it is a wonderful drug. Would I ever self medicate again? I wish I could say no, but being an addict I just can't say that with 100% certainty. I do know that taking unprescribed drugs started out making me "feel better" but after a while, not so much.
