Remember, you DON":T have to agree.Ive had 2 W/C mediations and I had an agressive atty.I feel I did OK,my experience is,the longer you mediate ,the more favorable you come out.I also believe they come in with a number in their head,a number that was decided days before the mediation. Its that number you want to get to,the mediator will know when the bargining is about over.Of course this is all about settling I assume. If you are going to nee future surgeries,or a long course of medications, know that if YOU have to start paying for it ,it will become very costly.W/Cdoes NOT pay the prices we pay for services or meds. They are greatly discounted. So you cant expect a $20,000 surgery for W/C to be the same price for you.More like 3x the amt.If you have an atty.I do hope the atty isnt eager to close your case for sake of the atty.If you have medical probs that will need attention,be careful. Also know, should you apply.or get SSDI,its possible the SSA might offset monies later on to cover costs that stem from the W/C incident. They dont want you getting a lump sum settlement, then get SSDI,and they pay for care that you were compensated for at settlement. That said,I dont know what your mediation is about,so I just threw some FYI stuff at ya because I needed to know it.Good luck.
