Hello everyone.

Sorry I never made it back to the forum yesterday to rewrite the post I lost. A friend called and asked for my help to move some things and it just took longer than I expected.

I'll try to re-create that post now.

Today I will try to use a defibrillator to 'jump start' some activity here - as citoig said, to help 'breathe some life back into this forum'. ;)

As I read through the posts on citoig's thread 'where is everybody', I began to see a pattern emerging. We all said that we check this forum somewhat regularly but when we discover no one else has started a thread, we do not post either. :( I'm really wondering why we do that.

I think part of the reason that I didn't begin a new thread very often was because I feel much the same as citoig does - I just didn't want to be talking to myself (and I imagine most of us feel that way). :o After thinking about it more, I realized that someone has to be the 'first' one to post and begin a thread - so why not me??

Also, I imagine there are probably more 'lurkers' out there (some newcomers and some like the rest of us) who are also avoiding being that 'first' person to post. So, it appears we have people 'wanting' to keep this forum more active but we all seem afraid to be the one who actually makes the effort to get the ball rolling, so to speak. :( That's sad!

It's sort of like when someone wants to boil water -- if you put the pot of water on the stove but don't bother to turn on the burner/heat - well, then nothing much is going to happen to your water, right???

Then it occurred to me that making the commitment to post here on a more regular basis (regardless of who else is or isn't posting), in the hope that some newcomer might feel comfortable enough to post a message about themselves, is just another way of doing Twelfth Step work which could benefit each and every one of us, if we chose to make that commitment. :)

So, in response to citoig's request, I came to the conclusion that I would try to do my part to help bring this forum back to life. :) I hope others will do the same.

God Bless!!
