Hi, has anyone had urinary irritation or UTI's while taking Celebrex?
My surgeon put me on this, and within the first day I had discomfort, and by the second day an infection, for which I was treated. As my family doctor did not think it was related to the Celebrex, I again started taking the medicine. Now twice I have had to discontinue using it because of developing urinary tract infections (urine samples were taken -they were UTI's).

I did find on several internet sites that one of the side effects of Celebrex can be urinary tract infections. Even with that information, my family doctor is skeptical as she says that this side effect is rare - she has had many people on Celebrex with no problems.

So I am hoping others will respond to this, so that I can show her I am not the only one. Thanks.

Have not found anything about UTI and NSAIDS but here is an article about a link to urinary retention. This study was done in men only. Urinary retention is much more common in men but can occur in women too. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/538731
