Whew!!! the problems I was facing from from side A not communicating with side B are over.
I received a conference call late this morning and it was between medicare and my part D provider. The rep for medicare was very nice unlike most of the people I have spoken with.
I even received a check in the mail today for the premiums that the SSA had been taking out.
Looks like the call to my congressman really helped.
Later everyone

So glad that mess if over for ya, I;m in a mess waiting for my backpay,,,They will not get it through there heads I did not get any SSI,,WE needed the monies so bad that we had to take a loan from the bank on it..90 day, So hopefully , they get it together...Within the next 3 months..I only barrowed half of it...But bills needed paid..Hubby out of work for 2 months (thats another story ) Anyway, Been getting SSDI checks for 3 months, NO SSI, It should not take that long for back pay..My lawyer is having a FIT...They put monies out for him ( Ithought they have gave it to him ) but they haven't..It's just out of my monies . I was told 9 thousand 25% of my back pay...Gosh thats alot,,,I'm kind of wondering how much he'll end up taking...Be interesting to see. Since he has been paid for 3 thousand dollars for the GOV, court allready...HMMmmmm..Venting again...I;m going to make phone calls again today...I did last week, but all I get is a answering service with a promise they will call back..They never have...GRRrrrrrr,,Hugs, Cindy

You should have signed a paper for the lawyers fee,, the lawyer can take 25%, up till 5500.00 no more than that, so if your backpay is 32,000.00 they can't take any more than 5500.00 not 8000.00. If your backpay is 10,000.00 they can only take 2500.00. Before Braintalk crashed thier was a lot of information about ssd and ssi, by Liam and another person far more knowledgable than I. Check your papers and see if you can find the lawyers fee agreement, do not throw any paper away and make sure if you mail anything get return reciept.

When you get your letter from SSD it will explain how they fiqured your back pay and that will include deducting for your atty. The attorney I had was great and she worked by herself with a small practice and only did SSI and SSD, she knew everyone and made things very easy for me and I live in a big city.

The limit is $5300.00...If you have recieved your fully favorable letter a copy of what the lawyer had you sign should be included in it along with a written approval from the judge approving your attoneys fee.
