Hello everyone, I am a member of the Aneurysm forum but it has been determined that I don't have an annie so I am back to square 1 and wondering if I have Fibro. Here's some history. I had a severe fall from a horse in 1995 in which I suffered a concussion and some permanent memory loss. Since then I have had daily back pain and migraines. In January I had a migraine so bad that I thought I was having a stroke. CT and MRI has ruled that out along with no anuerysm, MS or tumor. The headaches have persisted to some degree or another almost daily since January and are acompanied by hand tremor, blank out (not black out), lack of concentration, photophobia, stuttering, clumsiness, IBS and constant fatigue. I just started to see a neuro but now I am wondering if I need to see a rheumo? My back and neck are painful and stiff, I have pain intermittent in my legs and arms and my eyes are always sore and feel swollen. What the heck is going on!?!?! I am frustrated that no answer has been found yet!

Hi and welcome,

It's possible that it's Fibromyalgia. I was just diagnosed and I have many of the same symptoms. I've had IBS and migraines (which became chronic in my late 20's) since I was a child (lucky me) and I've been had several accidents, including 4 whiplashes, which resulted in years of neck and shoulder pain.

I've read that Fibro is usually triggered by some sort of trauma and lord knows I've had more than my share of physical traumas. Falling off a a horse would certainly qualify as a trauma. There are some links in the Stickies area that I found very helpful when I was looking for answers. There is a chart on this link http://www2.rpa.net/~lrandall/fmslog.html that I used to chart my symptoms and I took them with my first Neuro appt so she could see a pattern of what I was going through. It was extremely helpful in diagnosing me.

I hope this helps and if you do have Fibro that you get some answers soon.

Good Luck,
Alli

Alli, thank you so much. I have a friend who has Fibro and I remember seeing her go through good days and bad. She has been on SSDI for years now because of the chronic pain. I will definitely chart my symptoms and see if that helps. Thanks again!

I believe that in order to have a dx of fibromyalgia, you have to have pain above and below the waist and on both sides of the body. You also have to have pain in 8 out of 11 particular tender spots on the body. There are charts on the internet where you can look at where those spots are.
It is also believed by some people that neck or back injuries can eventually cause fibromyalgia.
It wouldn't hurt to see a rheumy.
