WOW...COUNT 'EM WITH ME!

1...2...3...4...5...6...7...1/2... ahhh...the number of hours of sleep I got last night. I wish it were Saturday, 'cause I could crawl right back into bed this morning. :)

Friends, and anyone reading this, I've been through fire. But I came out the otherside alive; a little burned here and there, but ALIVE. For the first part of my first week of going cold turkey from COPIOUS amounts of pain meds for chronic pain I didn't think I could make it. And the truth is, I couldn't, and neither can you. BUT THAT'S NOT THE GOAL! The goal is to make it through whatever it is your experiencing at the MOMENT. It's a life of MOMENTS that we live. I thought I would string a bunch of those moments together and I'm approaching two weeks and feel really, really good. Oh man! Do I feel good! And Now? RESTED as well! I will be honest and say there have been days (especially this week) that my neck and arm have gripped me with a little more pain than I had experienced the first week, but I've been able to manage with OTC meds to this point. Something I NEVER thought I would be able to do.

Thanks for listening!

Thanks you guys...I could not believe how I went down last night. I really was expecting to wake up around 1 or 2 am...but nope...well after 6:00! I know I shouldn't expect that to be norm yet, but I could get used to it! :)

To be at work today and have someone say, "you look a little different. what is it?" Ahhhh....I'm no longer taking enough meds to stop a race hourse. (I didn't say that of course, but that's what I thought). It felt pretty good. :D

So...let's see how I continue to do. I don't know what the overall effect of this little experiment will be on my neck, (L) shoulder & (L) arm, but I'm really hoping that I never need to be in a position where I have to use so much medication again. And believe me, I know what it's like to need it.

....actually, I've been sleeping through the night from that first time. I can say with the utmost certainty, that I've rounded the corner.
