This past week-end my brother was admitted into the hospital, which at the time they suspected he might be having a heart problem. Is out and seems to be alright now.

Anyway, the Cardiologist told him to take aspirin and Omega 3 fish oil supplements. He is on Synthroid for hypothyroid. Later when he was checking out of the hospital he was given a sheet that said not to take Omega 3 if you are on Synthroid. I have never heard this. I also take Synthroid and have been taking Omega 3 for probably 5 years. Does anyone know anything about this?

I feel sure that if the right people come along someone will be able to shed some light on this. We have talked a lot about Omega 3 here on the forum, and a lot of people are on Synthroid, but I do not remember this coming up.

Thanks,
Virginia

Thanks for your help with the name of a financial contact on the skipping shots posting. I also take synthroid and Omega 3. Never been told not to, but that doesn't mean much in today's hectic world! Did tthey say what are the ill effects?

They did not tell him the reason he should not take Synthroid and Omega 3 together. The hospital just gave him a sheet as he was leaving, so now he and I both are wondering. He put in a call to his Endocrinologist to try and find out, but that is a big office and they rarely return calls. One of the worse practices in this city to try and get a call from any of the Doctors.

I was hoping someone on here might could help.

Bumping in case Mark or some one comes along who might know something about this.
