Physcological Exam

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well we attending my hubby's phys exam yesterday and I think that day will play in my head for a long long time to come. Just sitting there and seeing his struggle just tore at my heart. I would see the tears falling down his face and the pain was so extreme I just wanted to jump up and run out of the room, but I will always be strong for him no matter how bad it hurts me inside.

The exam went fairly well, was worried because he was having a good brain day, with no headache, so I am thinking he feeling pretty good he will probably do good on all of their testing and even the doc will think he is faking it.

But I was wrong it went the other way, there is no denying he cannot remember, doc said he was having trouble in both areas of memory, short and long term, he said he scored really low in both and that he would be supporting our claim. However, he set down and talked to us afterwards and said that even though he was supporting our claim he is not SSD and he does not understand how they make their judgements, he claim in favor and they will still deny. He said just don't give up, continue the process, so I guess that is where we stand.

Not knowing what tomorrow will bring, still fighting workman's comp also, all I know is he cannot work, it would scare me to death to think about him being at work somewhere and not at home, he is fairly safe there, his parents are next door.

Thanks you to everyone here for being so supportive and always listening to my vents.

Hi
{{HUGS}}
Have you thought of going to another neurosurgeon for a second opinion?
with everything getting worse it could be a sign something needs to be done, even just a shunt might help? I am sorry, the waiting part of brain problems is the hardest part. my heart goes out to both your husband and you.
Love

Shown, has your husband had any MRIs or CT scans recently? Like Deborah
said, a second opinion wouldn't hurt and you could always get copies of his
scans and send them to both workman's comp and Social Security. The fact
that you have proof of his condition on his records should go in your favor.

Good luck!:)

What does your husbands nsg think of the test results? Have you spoken with him in regards to your husbands worsening symptoms?

Having this doc on your side is a plus...my understanding that most claims are denied the 1st time or 2...guess they want to see if you really need it & how hard you're willing to fight.

Memory loss is quite common...deal with it with Bradley...some days are easier than others...but oh boy if he's having a bad day pain wise or over tired forget it...pardon the pun.

Good luck...hope things work out.
